Birdwatching in southeast Kazakhstan 01 - 11 MAY 2011 'Bird paradise of Central Asia' Guaranteed departure: 7 places available! Kazakhstan is located on the border between the western and eastern subdivisions. For a long time Kazakhstan is known for its large variety of rare WP species. The great diversity of various types of habitat ranging from huge canyons to endless steppe and fresh Spruce forests. A visit to the southeast of the country is a guaranteed success and an unforgettable experience. During the trip, guided by Machiel Valkenburg, co-founder of Central Asia Birding, we will call at the geological interesting and magnificent Charyn Canyon. The vast landscape of Taukum Desert which will make everybody fall in silence. We will end this superb tour with the amazing mountains of the Tien Shan, snow-capped peaks reaching above 5000m.
During the trip we will visit the various types of habitat where we have expert experience in finding top species as; Demoiselle Crane, Macqueens Bustard, Bearded Vulture, Himalayan Griffon Vulture, Steppe Eagle, Himalayan Snowcock, Ibisbill, Pallas's Sandgrouse, Greater Sand Plover, Caspian Plover, the endangered Eversmann's Dove, Striated Scops Owl, White-browed Tit Warbler, White-winged Woodpecker, Desert Wheatear, Bimaculated Lark, Guldenstadt's Redstart, Blue-capped Redstart, Eversmann's Redstart, Sulphur-bellied Warbler, Desert Warbler, Turkistan Tit, Desert-, Mongolian- and Asian Crimson-winged Finch and the stunning White-tailed Rubythroat.
